Rxd5 would have been a much better option, that is my question. I wonder what calculation the computer could have done to make Qe4 seem like the better move. I don't think there is a formula you can program into a computer to simulate luck. I would prefer it that at the hardest setting the computer should not just make a blunder to see if you are paying attention. I appreciate the input though, I was thinking Bd2 might have been pretty good too.
Why does the computer make silly mistakes

The computer is set up to play a random terrible blunder every so many moves. This one does seem particularly bad, but that's just the roll of the dice.
It's not that you're missing anything, the computer didn't actually decide that move was good either.

I wish the computer would makes some mistakes, for me it makes the best move every single time
You are posting in a 12 year old thread. The original poster was complaining about the second strongest strength choice available then. (Computer Impossible was stronger.)
Game Review says that the Computer Hard was playing at a 1200 level.
These days you have a lot more choice. All of the bots are just computer engines. Most of them make a lot of mistakes.
Most of the time the computer set on the highest level beats me. Even when the opening it uses is positionally suspect (in my opinion). However when I do occassionally win it is because of some seemingly silly blunder. Has anyone else noticed this or have a theory as to why?
