Why don't YOU play longer time controls?

I play 30|0 a lot and it is my favorite time control.

More or less the reasons I play fast time controls have been listed out - inability to keep my hands still, ability to play etc. But there is another reason which has not been listed. For a person like me who is preoccupied with my job, I find it difficult to spare time for longer games. I treat bullet games as stress relievers when the pandemic began last year.

Unfortunately, that was months ago, and I have since stopped playing all formats of games (at least for now). I only play longer controls at my local chess club, which was at least the case before it was closed off temporarily due to the pandemic.

Depends,

That makes sense. I don’t have a job as I’m still a kid so I have all the time in the world to play longer time controls. Though I would love to play some OTB chess at a club even if it was shorter time controls.

I second this. Even as a musician currently without a job, I'm still not overly incentivised to spend too much time on chess, because I don't see it becoming my career.

Best case scenario, I work on my game and increase my activity on prominent chess streams, so that I get noticed myself and then build a small chess-loving community of my own; but the road to that is not clear to me at all, so instead, I only play chess when I happen to get an "itch" for it.
