I think Spassky had edge in Tennis, even though he was older.

It wasn't like Fischer kept his opinion to himself, paul211. They didn't go through his diary after he "died". He said his nonsense during interviews and press conferences.

Fischer was an incredible talent - possibly unequaled - but that talent was confined within a deeply flawed personality. Whether he was mentally ill or intellectualy perverse, there's an incredible sadness to the fact that he didn't give us more games and and reach his full potential as a player. Also sad was the missed opportunity to promote American chess, but saddest of all is the fact that he was never really a happy, well adjusted person.

Yes Fischer was one of the greatest players ever. BUT his political views were horrible. He was an anti-Semite, even though there is evidence to support he was actually Jewish. I could post videos of him shamelessly expressing these views but with the things he said, I could get banned for offending a jewish person who visits this website. So obviously, search if you want, but it is wise not to if you're Jewish or have Jewish origins, as you would probably be offended.
