you seem to have a problem with passed pawns, and in between play

It is because chess takes time. It sucks time. It wastes time. Time time time. It'll take time.

(I only posted in this thread because its layout is messed up)

Your rating will fall to the level of your weakest element.  Remember to check your opponent's last move to see what it threatens or no matter what else you learn, your rating will not go anywhere.

Also be sure to have a long enough time control that you're not rushing at the end.  I suspect some of these blunders were because you were low on time.  These types of games are fun, but don't help you improve.

Also Gizmodeus is right, improvement comes in spurts.

RESTRICTION is Karpovs ultimate law of chess!

If you have the centre he doesn't...

My opinion, not worth much.  If you are a 1300 and beating a 1700 twice, you are doing pretty well.  A solid 1700 is much better than a solid 1300.  For my own game, I have decided to play more opponents that are at the same level as I am.  I got sick of losing to better players, and again in my opinion, one doesn't learn that much from losing to better opponents.  Losing to similarly rated opponents, however, should glean quite a bit of information.  Also, I just purchased Silman's 4th edition of "How to Reassess your Chess".  I believe that just by skimming the first two chapters, I have already improved and look at the game differently than I did just a couple of weeks ago.  It is a journey, not a destination.  Keep at it if you enjoy it.

If you are trying to make serious improvements to your game, i would say keep the time controls around 10 minutes or longer. For me, 5 to 7 minutes is fine but I definitely prefer at least 10 minutes. Blitz chess can be a lot of fun but you will overlook moves.

I can tell from watching these games you posted here, you are making solid moves in the opening, questionable moves in the midgame and blunders in the end. That is probably all time control related.

1. Would really suck if you were loosing to worst players tha yourself

2. You can learn almost everything by loosing to a better player than youserlf, you just have to analyze your games later and ask youserlf why..

Yeh, confidence can become a problem: that is why you are choosing to play players more your level... for goo dreason don't get me wrong.

I would make the time limits 20 minutes atleast or you are not really giving yourself a chance. I prefer 30 minutes....

...also, play less! Life is frittered away be details so learn to simplify and take a breath.

Sure my friend , i think u have a good start but poor at mid and the end cos of time..

so u better asked him to play with more time , and make u can breath enough..

tention will happen in the middle of the game . he used to play alot more than u so tention not much but u are very much.

Chess is a tuff game to learn, just keep practicing. I reached 1300 after about 6 years of playing (i was just a little kid when i started tho), chess skills wont just come in a short time by a little practice.

Hey, remember what Fischer said: One day you're brilliant! I think that's what he said anyway.. something like that. ALRIGHT: I JUST LIKE TO PRETEND THAT'S WHAT HE SAID.... LOL

Frustration is a boundary... you'll get over it. Go do something else and you'll find your subconcious will work on it... and then what Fischer said will happen will happen is my guess! Hey, it's worth a try ay?!!? Money mouth i'm telling ya: oh, and what they said about  Tal or whoever.... that they played the game with unending enthusiasm, well this is unending enthusiasm about how getting good is just waking up one day and BOOM IT'LL HAPPEN LIKE fISCHER SAID. Believe, and then you will see!

DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND LOVE WHAT YOU DO. I READ QUOTES AND WATCH, SAY KELLY SLATER EVEN THO I CAN'T SURF: HE LOVES IT. PUT THAT INTO YOUR CHESS... I WATCH MIKE TYSON AND THE PROFESSIONALITY OF OTHERS AND TRY AND PUT THAT, THE ATTITUDE I SUPPOSE IT COMES DOWN TO, IN MY GAME.

LASTLY, REMEMBER WHAT LASKER(WHO REIGNED FOR 27 YEARS) SAID ABOUT STEINITZ, WHOM I THINK HE BEAT FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP. "Above all(these aren't perfect quotes by the way, but you probably realise that by now Money mouth ) Steinitz was beaten by A PLAYER." He was talking about himself....

Be that player, dood! THAT HAS TO BE THE COMMON THREAD WITH FISCHER AND MORPHY AND KASPAROV AND KARPOV AND MAGNUSSEN AND HOWELL AND WHOEVER YOU GOT.

YOU MIGHT NEED A BREAK- CHESS CAN MAKE YOU VERY TIRED I FIND- AND A GOOD SLEEP BUT KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO IT. BE CERTAIN AND ATTACK.

WHAT THEY SAID AT MY KUNG FU CLASS WAS... "ATTACK LIKE THUNDER FROM THE HEAVENS. RETREAT LIKE DUST OF THE EARTH."

HOW HARD IS IT TO KEEP THE DUST OF THE EARTH OUT OF YOUR HOUSE? DON'T GO AWAY... RETREAT ONLY AS FAR AS YOU HAVE TO (I.E. MAKE THEM GET RID OF YOU) AND JUST KEEP PUSHING THROUGH THE MIDDLE!! BASICALLY, DON'T RETREAT... DOORS ARE MADE TO KEEP THE DUST OUT ETC BUT IT'S STILL TRYING TO GET IN CONSTANTLY.

ALRIGHT, LET ME KNOW IF YOU HIT ON THE MAJIC FORMULA!

Face it, you were simply unlucky in that first one... I bet you're better already Money mouthMoney mouthCool
