Why is Blitz harder than Rapid?

Blitz has always been harder than rapid, because you need to watch the clock too. Use easy openings without too much theory. Play 3 minute puzzle rushes, they help a lot. And finally, but not last: use the clock as your weapon. I was under 1200 blitz when I was 1400 rapid, but now I am 1500 rapid and 1600 blitz.
Blitz has a stronger player pool and requires different skill sets, having deeper understanding of the positions is a big benefit in blitz as you have to make decisions quickly and don’t have a lot of time to look for different moves

Played by less people, so has a stronger player pool. Most people who play both time controls find their blitz to be a lot lower. They also do simply reward different skills - rapid is more calculation heavy where blitz is very instinctual.

i think the way to get better (my blitz sucks) is to like memorize commen pattersn and just think fast

Blitz and Bullet? Chess with an asterisk. And it favors memory and experience over thinking skills.
I've been playing chess for 2.5 years. My Rapid rating has reached 1350, but my Blitz rating hasn’t gone beyond 930. I’ve played around 2000 Blitz games and 1000 Rapid games, so it's not that I lack practice.
I analyze every game and regularly do puzzles, both with and without time control.
So I don’t understand why I’m not improving.
Any recommendations?
