I never claimed expertise. I criticized your dismissal of expertise on flimsy grounds.

I criticise your flimsy dismissal of my magnificent expertise at dismissing expertise on flimsy grounds. It takes more to win an argument on flimsy grounds!

When it seems like everyone else is losing their mind, you should see your doctor.

That's what people in a madhouse would like to think when their doctor visits them, sure. "You're not wearing your shoes on your head like we do. See a doctor."

You lose. I'm better than you at this.

Ooops, here a snake biting own tail!

The said doctor is the doctor of the authorities you claim to be of no value.

That's one thing. But the best is to come:

In your phrasing, you're appointing yourself the doctor of the madhouse! Hilarious

Actually, I think I do see it like that. I do think that some of the old favourites here have been showing signs of cracking up lately. They won't have my resilience, you see.

Sports is a game of two or more opponents win the opportunity to become the victor.
That said, fishing and hunting are Not sports.

In fishing and hunting there are two opponents, the hunter and the prey. The hunter wins by capturing the prey, the prey wins by avoiding capture.

I try not to. Usually, I make my mind blank and a thought thinks itself. When I have to think, it takes a while getting used to it. I can do it and have a very logical mind, somewhere. I think my wife keeps it safe in her handbag. She's a psychotherapist and we make a very good team.

Thing is, by you, it's flimsy only if "nothing" or" void" can be counted flimsy. Cos the custom is to count individual, unsupported opinions for just, plain, nothing. And that's very much what your opinion is, considering the lack of support (your will doesn't count as support) you gave it.

I think you should be complimenting me on the wording of what I wrote. The fact that you aren't shows you do not have good taste. That in turn means that what you wrote just there wouldn't be funny enough to count as worth reading even if I tried to understand it. The fact that I couldn't understand it show that I couldn't be bothered to try and the fact Ziryab just gave you a thumbs up speaks volumes for everything about him.

Both of you are clutching at straws and you should both probably have a try at seeing and responding to the lighter side of life.

So as there is no universally accepted authority on the matter and no solid ground upon which to base an argument all opinions are valid and discussion is pointless?

I think it was meant to carry his and Ziryab's opinion that all individual opinion is worthless, compared with the judgement of official, expert bodies, which they happen to agree with.

Really? Making fun of someone who uses perfectly correct English because he displays a French flag? Again with the English attitude of "the wogs begin at Calais".

Also I have the flimsiest arguments. How do I know that? The ones saying chess is a sport are telling me it's so. I think I'm morally wrong also for making my corrupt and intellectually bereft and decadent claim that it is only a game. Why do I think that? These people here are experts, They know about things like that. Also the governing bodies say it too. I have no hope. I am corrupt. My boots are half a size too small. It's useless. How can I go on? etc etc.

No it wasn't because he has a French flag. I even have some friends with a French flag. It was because he called me a couch potato and other nasty and hurtful things.

A better question is WHY do you go on in this vein.

Then if you had any class you would have directed your retort at the particular individual rather that mocking his (assumed) nationality.
