I think the complexity of chess allows for a greater depth of strategy.
Why is Chess way better than checkers?

There are many variants of checkers - 64 squares 100 squares
I have played both... in checkers by my oppinion it's a lot easier to blunder than in chess
Hard to if one is better than other - they are simply different
