Why is getting one puzzle wrong so punishing

So I have been doing puzzles a lot recently, I get usually like 4-8 correct in a row and if I am lucky 12 but I get 1 puzzle wrong my rating will drop 30 points (you only get 5 points per correct puzzle) can we lower this to maybe 10 points unless its like something anyone under 400 could solve in 5 seconds.
The amount you lose will be higher the larger the difference in the puzzle rating and your current puzzle rating

I know but you get 2 really hard ones wrong you will likely drop a hundreds place.
