Why is it i can beat 700 elo people but my blitz rating is still 500

My blitz is different than my rapid. Just a reflection of the pool and differences in the game

Simple math

My blitz is over 400 lower than rapid. Elo is also variable. It tracks results, strength of play is not so precise for lower elo vs each other. So yeah, a 2400 will beat an 800 into the ground and rarely lose. But an 800 will win and lose with more variance against 600 and 1000. Because an 800 could gain or lose 200 points over 3-6 months and still be prone to blundering 3 or more times a game. A 2400 player might only blunder 1-2 times a game at most, or even 0 times on a regular basis. So you can imagine how much harder it is not to regularly blunder in faster time controls.

Maybe it's because the 500ELO people are secretly way better than you.
