sounds like your making improvement. Ratings typically fluctuate from high to low, low to high. This is because as your rating increases, the opposing player skill increases. It's very common to have rises and falls. The good thing is we can improve over time.

For whatever reason, my blitz rating over time looks a lot like the graph of a sine function. I'll give an example. I do well at 5/2, go on a winning streak and my rating goes up, lets say to about 1200. then my rating begins to plummet all the way back down to about 1000. I hit a low point where I'm struggling to beat obvious beginners (like even in the 1000 range) when I was easily beating people 200-300 points higher then them. Then something happens and I go on a win streak back to 1200, easily beating those 1000 - 1200 and sometimes winnning against 1300s. Then the cycle repeats. This time i made it to 1300, but now I'm starting my trip back to 1000. I don't understand why its like that in blitz, but in 15 min standard I've been going at a linear progression up (currently 1617). Feeling like i not only can't break a rating barrier but also when I lose I go ALL THE WAY down feels pretty hopeless as many of my losses are to people who play in such a way i feel I could easily win against in standard. Any suggestions or ideas that may help me improve?
