Thanks! I like how it took 34 pages for StrengthInPawns to tell us all the "actual reason".
Meanwhile, I just won a game against a man! I didn't want to tell him that he's supposed to be "mentally better" at chess.
I disagree very much. I think that there are MANY, many males and females that play chess. I am a female, and I have many friends that are actually in the World Championships...
Think trysts selfishly dominated the previous page.
I never thought I'd be happy about a girl giving a guy a the clap multiple times and I never thought it would be Trysts either, but I guess it only helps to further prove that one can't really predict how things will go or how they actually work in reality, no matter how much we think they know...it is a shame some people are so narrow minded....

Your "argument" is that men are "mentally better" at chess based upon I.Q. tests. I win chess games against men all the time. That is my counter argument. Your theoretical argument against my experiential argument.
I do want to thank you for showing such self-restraint in being "politically correct", that had to be difficult.
Why is this tread so male dominated?
Why is this topic habitually raised by men?
Now more women graduate with college degrees than men. What skills does that require, IQ notwithstanding?
Why (Oh Why!) did we start letting women work out in the gym, it's (seemingly) been all downhill since then.
I like to think I'm a manly man, despite being a chess nerd too. Just like Hans and Franz, from Saturday Night Live.
The more women chess players, the better. End of Story, Pretty Please?

Here's an interesting sentence i came across:
"Studies have shown that chess requires auditory-verbal-sequential skills, not visuospatial skills."
It's under the wiki section "Environment and Intelligence." (It's at the bottom.) The reference is to "I.Q. and Chess" by Bill Wall.
Isn't one claim on this board is that men are better at chess because chess utilizes the mental strengths that favour men? Wouldn't the claim made by Bill Wall say differently?

I think there must be a geniality graph and with which frecuency the phenomena of geniality happens in women and men, I think it is a little bias towards men. I know I will be called everything for saying this but that is what I saw

Well at the great risk of being politically incorrect... I'm going to point out the actual reason there is such a great disparity between the sexes when it comes to chess.
