Because it is under chess.com (and I think FIDE) that a single knight is insufficient material to checkmate, even though it is possible to checkmate.
Why is this "insufficient material"

Under FIDE it's a win for white.
You're correct here it's a draw since the site only looks at the material the side with time has and K+N is insufficient to mate on timeout
My opponent disconnected from the game so i was waiting for the auto resign timer to go down but instead of saying i won it said it was a draw by insufficient material
Why/how is this insufficient material (I'm white) and why didn't it just auto resign him
