You sure time out?
Why is timeout in rapid a draw?
If white timeouts then is a black victory, because black could checkmate the other player (very difficult, but possible). But if black timeouts (I guess this case) then is a draw, because white player couldn't win having only a king.
my friend play this.(he barely knows how to checkmate someone.)
If that was a draw, and it wasn't agreed, then black ran out of time so it's a draw by insufficient material, since a lone king can't checkmate
wait... but can you checkmate with a knight and bishop and king against a lone king?
If white timed out, yes, that would be a win. If black timed out, it's a draw.

Yeah, of course. But that isn't relevant. You use the material of the person who didn't time out to decide the result. White only has a king, so he cannot mate. If white had any other pieces, white would have won.
Then again even if black wasn't low on time I don't know how they would figure out how to checkmate with just king, knight and bishop especially if they are 300 rated. Heck, I'm 1300 and I don't know how to do it either. Its inevitable draw.
the reason why is because its very difficult to force the king in a corner. i cant do the drill in chess.com too
You can turn on premoves in the settings. Go to settings, then live chess, then the tab that says 'play' in the pop-up, and it should be the first option.
yeah.... but the king was trapped in a box and looked like checkmate was near....
If a person runs a 42 km marathon and injures himself unexpectedly just 100 metres before the finish line, he does not win the marathon.
But seriously, even the knight and bishop checkmate is difficult for me that I would probably just offer my opponent a draw in that position. Though I have never encountered such endgames in real games so far...
