the games you mention are popular in the USA , so just a small portion of the world considers them popular , chess is played all over the world where smart people live . Sorry its not so popular in your country.

Ahem. Are you suggesting the United States is not smart? The past 100 years has proven you wrong... Silicon Valley is vertainly a good example of a place full of Smart People in the USA. Hey, you know what i like? Chicken. It starts with a C-h just like Chess.

He should be banned for insulting nationality. How disgraceful!

wow.... I am over whelmed at the brilliance that has decided that the school system and grades are a good test of intellect. I am wondering if any of those who think this is good comparison world wide, have they considered that like in other less fortunate countries, people in the US can get by without excessive or even what is considered standard education. This is due to abundant resources here and the intelligence of some resourceful US citizens.

My grandfather had a 5th grade education. He had a business that grossed 1/4 million in a year and couldn't read or write very well. Does the lack of a formal education dictate a lack of intelligence also? I quit high school with a year to go and had below average grades. I excelled at classes I enjoyed. I slept and got f's in the others. I couldn't stand patronizing students or boring teachers. I am glad I didn't waste an extra year of my life. I could expound on this much more, but if you don't get the point already, I doubt you want to.

I'd be more impressed if he'd netted 1/4 million annually rather than grossing it. You can gross billions and still have a negative net.

I have a good step dad and an equivalence...

They've both done me justice, I can't complain.

I think this song has a lot to say about education, the jobs it could provide and the reality of what is really good and isn't...

Best thing you've ever posted. Stick to the kiss formula.

On some level I always have, but another part of me knows it's too good to be true, that it could all be so simple...

I am already trying to read into the kiss analogy and yes I am aware of the acronym and the story of "Kiss" the band.

AlCzervik

The acronym. Not the band!

Unfortunately I own stock shares in a wasteful company that doesn't have a very good profit margin. I am well aware of the possibilities, but my grandfather didn't work and collect welfare to feed his family. I didn't think you were implying that. I am thinking you were making light of the fact that it might not be as impressive as I tried to make it seem. That's fair.I know people are smart enough to know bu!!$#!t when they see it. I am not trying to trick anyone, I would only be fooling myself if I tried.

I think if you knew how bad the environment that my grandfather was subjected to growing up, you'd probably be more impressed that simply put, he was a productive member of society.

That is supposedly how Gene Simmons chose the name for his band. He was thinking of ideas and wanted it to be simple. The rest is history, as they say.

BTW, as I begin to understand the respective languages of each person, I can make my posts more concise.

AlCzervik

I read it all as (mostly) English.
