If women want equality in chess then they need to get rid of the special titles and compete in the same tournaments as the men. There has been a Women's World Chess Championship for over a hundred years now and the only excuse that anyone can use to explain the difference in playing strength without getting fired or canceled is its the men keeping them down. Judit Polgar is the only woman in history to ever break 2700 and there will probably not be another female chess player break that barrier as long as they are content playing weaker competition instead of losing tough games and learning from their mistakes. In the current US Chess Championship there is only one Grandmaster in the whole bunch with the lowest rated player rated under 2300.

Why would the genders be equal in chess? In general women do not like to waste their time on board games, amd often criticize men who play the game while simultaneously complaining there aren't enough women in such things.
Women and men have differences in their general interests, a lot more men enjoy chess than women do, in order to get a 50/50 gender representation in chess you would have to force women to play the game because that many wouldn't do so willingly.

Its primarily because more men are interested in chess. I had a chess club in middle school and not a single woman came because, I fool you not they were all in the crochet club.
There’s something like a 95/5 imbalance of male to female players last I checked, and there’s not much encouragement for women chess players as there is for men when it comes to coaching and training, a bias that doesn’t help the chess world much. everyone plenty capable, take judit polgar and her sisters as just a few.
i mean women could be just as good or even better than men but no women want to play. judit polgar is a great example because she has an insane amount of skill in chess and even beat magnus in 2022
honestly this thread kinda made me depressed because i got (permanent?) brain damage from an illness and i (might) not ever be able to play normally again

Not with modern medical technology. The woman remains essential and one sperm (technically that could be circumvented via cloning, but that is illegal).
I meant the latter, but I added a comment that cloning is also technically (but not legally) possible.
Cloned mammals live a lot longer than 2 weeks when they get past an early stage of development. (Half of all natural fertilisations fail early too, with little fuss).
