The reason so few "real chess" threads are posted is that they are largely ignored by the membership. In terms of Chess.com's forums, nonsense is the new chess.

i'm assuming you're referring to your own sarcasm because there were no sarcastic comments made prior to yours. and in that case, i totally agree. definitely sarcasm at it's best. (note my sarcasm)

best player ever.....hmm.......a lot of choices.

there are tons of players who have revolutionized the chess world, such as Nimzovitch, that not many people recognize.  he was a REVOLUTION.  he developed so many of the modern day tactics and properties of chess, and made us look at it a completely different way (ex. overprotecting pieces, attacking the center from the side).  we tend to look at the more popular people rather than the ones who really made chess what it is today.

why do i feel like some people only post on the forums to get points. . .

Do the points really mean anything but participation? There was somebody who wanted to gamble on chess, here. Maybe we should gamble the points we get for participation in the forums.
