Why to Play with Luxury Chess Pieces?

That's a question I always ask to myself when ever I saw luxury pieces on sale. I usually tell to myself "Is all about the game anyways, right?" Myself says "That's true, the beauty is in the tactics, plans, strategies and the learning/perfection that never ends" Myself usually agrees with me happy.pngMy opinion quickly changed when I met TheSultan31003.

We usually are getting together on Fridays to play and learn from each other, brainstorming and studying as we go. He has very nice pieces. I put my King next to his to compare them and his King made mine look like a kid. His knights are a piece of art, you can even see his teeth. Nice 2.25in squares wood board and very nice annotated.

My Experience Playing with Luxury Chess Sets

Was my first time playing with such beautiful set. Is like if could breathe through the pieces due to the living wood. I felt like traveling through

the diagonals, ranks and files. I could connect with them so much that I felt like I was inside and all around the pieces. From there on, I think that every serious player should have a Luxury Chess Set.

My New Luxury Chess Set

I decided that I wanted to have the same experience more often, when I play or study by myself. So, this was the best time to break my piggy and buy my own Luxury Chess Set.  That's when I met chessbazaar.com They have the most beautiful and affordable  chess sets with free shipping  all over the world.

Video 2 (full collection)

The pictures don't come not even close to their beauty. FINISH TYPE: Lacquer (Glossy) make them look so shainy and radiant like expelling power out of them. Their weight give them a good feel to the toach with a King Height - 4.9''. The best part is that the store has a 20% discount and an extra 30% off for just luxury chess pieces with their promo code LOVE30 for the month of Febrary 2018.

I liked the set so much that I got the full collection Black, Red and White at chessbazaar.com

Congratulations on your new set! I completely agree that luxury sets are almost a must for any chess player, and if you think about the amount of time you’ll use to for play and analysis it really makes sense to get something you enjoy looking at that feels good to the touch. If you love chess and you have the money I don’t see why you wouldn’t want one.

What a waste of money.

A lifetime of enjoyment is really priceless but enjoy your Wal-Mart set.
breakingbad12

Lifetime of enjoyment? That's how vain and materialistic people rationalize? Interesting...

ActuallySleepy

Yes, if you take care of it it will last you a lifetime (even longer if you have someone to pass it on to), and I can only assume you enjoy Chess. Don’t get me wrong if you can’t afford it or have better things to spend your money on I completely understand but as a Chess aficionado I do enjoy a nice chess set.

breakingbad12

Why do you assume I don't have money? If a person doesn't like luxury then he doesn't have money? This is how you see people?

Monie49

Very nice set!

Because owning something nice means you are vain and materialistic? Get lost

breakingbad12
Yes, sure. I don't own anything. I walk naked in public.

DeirdreSkye is totally right.

Btw, one of the problems of chess is that, sometimes, it attracts the wrong type of person. Chess used to be a fancy game, only played by intellectuals and by the elite. Because of that, some people see chess as a tool to brag themselves ("hey! i'm such a noble person! oh, i'm so rich and smart! u don't like my luxury-ego chess set??? oh u must be poor u peasant!!! i'm superior cos i hav money!!!!")

I just made a simple 1 line comment and then 2 people got bu**hurt because of that. This just proves my point  even morehappy.png

Very nice set !

Nice set.  To as those calling it vain:  Yes in part it is but not entirely. Chess is a mental game and if a nice set gives a player a positive mood while playing then it is beneficial.  I personally completely cleare my desk to analyze and play at home. Is disliking clutter vain?

The trolls say "you MUST do it MY way"...

This thread reminds me of the luxury fountain pen haters on the FPN.  Lighten up folks, and let others enjoy whatever they want.

And to the OP, nice set!  I hope it gives you much enjoyment for years.

browse some guitar jazz forum and you'll get terabyte about this.

Chess\Jazz amateurs share the same pattern about Learning practicing improving and whatever..

with identical results obviously.  Also the advice given are identical too..very funny thing
