Tips: Play more piece developing moves, in order to not lack behind in development, instead of queen and pawn moves.
Don’t sacrifice a piece if it doesn’t give you access to the opponent’s king or wins you material. Also like Levy says a good rule of thumb is you need 2 more attackers than your opponent has defenders.
Make sure your king is safe and watch out for possible checks on your king.
