WHy u like chess? Don't reply if you do not have offical OTB rating

What made you pick up chess, and why do you like it?

We used to be able to play in study hall in high school.  

My brother told me ahe was playing online two years ago.  I hadnt really played more than 10 games in the last 15 years so i decided to pick it back up.  2 years later, and about 3 hrs/day consistently here we are on chess.com

why we cant post without oficial rating?...

You can mold it into something personalized - like an opening repertoire and style of play.

I agree. That's a really dumbass troll kind of requirement. Especially coming from someone who has been here for 2 weeks and has not played a single game.

I don't have an OTB rating, and, since you can't really stop me from posting, I will give my opinion.

I like chess because I LOVE problem solving. I'm also a teacher and software developer. Both of which require great problem solving skills.

I don't like chess, I love it. Due to present circumstances, I try to avoid playing most of the time and occasionally splurge with a series of blitz games, but I still read chess books and I can't seem to get it out of my mind. Right now, it feels like a bad habit like smoking.

Anyways, I play because I lik- *bats away Avast* e to.  It's a game; it helps pass the time.

Because it is fun and stimulates the mind even when you aren't able to play (i.e. you can study books/games any time you want)

Because Pawnstogo likes to cause trouble. 

Im sure I play better chess than to many of you without playing any OTB game...

I like chess because I'm pants at anything else.
