So much about freedom of speech.
Why was MSC157 muted??????!! MSC case #2

It doesn't have to be hard work at all. You just have to come down hard, punishing those that do it and banishing those that choose to be repeat offenders. The problem won't get fixed overnight, in large part because the staff has allowed it to fester in the mess is it now...but the problem is most definitely fixable. It just takes a willingness to have a forum instead of a zoo.
That's exactly the point I'm making - it's not hard work at all it just needs a firm hand by the moderating team to show people who runs the site.
If they issue a warning that all 'MSC messages' will be deleted and any further ones will result in a muting followed by account deletion, after 24 hrs people will get the message and few days later he'll be history.
The issue has only gotten out of hand because the moderating team have let it get that way - let's face it the offender gets umpteen warnings and at least one muting but carries on regardless and even has the audacity to try and use the site to promote his own 'official tournaments' !
What on earth is going on when the site allows a muted individual to continually use the site to promote his own ego ?
His account should have been deleted long ago.
The site will never improve and get rid of the 'ghost of MSC' till they either mute him for good (or delete his account) and similarly stop any further comments about him.
Come on moderators - show some backbone and clear him and his henchmen off the site for good.
That's a nice stab in the back from a member who joined over two years after MSC.

When did chess.com implement this whole seniority thing?
Did I miss the memo?
Your better than that kayak.

So much for understanding freedom of speech.
I'm in two minds on whether this is
1. freedom of speech
or
2. freedom of expression.
In my opinion on the internet the latter would be the correct terminology.

Maybe the mods don't realize the danger of not letting MSC stay up all night to be able to post before the D.P. - he could go real crazy and do something stupid.

Express yourself.
Thanks Bronco.
That's the first time ever i listened to rap song alllll the way to the end of the song.
How said is that eh?!

Daily Puzzle

I'm pretty sure the powers that be have the matter under control. Their measured response is actually pretty fair.

OK, point taken. I just don't like it when a muted member can read all these comments and can't fight back.

Then perhaps people shouldn't create such threads?

Right, a muted member should be able to post and fight back. That's why you call 'em muted, no?
For a bloke who has only been a member here for a few days you sure know your way around this site.

If it has a C on the end it's Damp Proof Course.
Wow, Chess.com moderators deleted both of my comments on daily puzzle.
