Because he moved his pawn two squares on the first move, not because he moved it "twice".

Yeah he didn't have to lose his queen at all.
Well, when your playing someone who makes that many blunders within about ten moves, I don't think you really need en passant.

I did realize the blunder that his queen could have taken, but either way, I learned from it, and won the game.
