idk about cheating, but with the ammount of disconnects that chess.com allows for no fault of its user, this site will close much sooner. what a disgraceful experience to play
Will chess survive the next 30 years?
I dont think chess will end in the forseeable future.
And if it ends, then most certainly not because of cheaters.
Cheaters are in every online game. Thats just a fact of life.
Chess will always be there.. but whoever solves the issues with what we have now. like ping and cheaters. whoever solves these problems.. will have a better advantage.. needless to say chesscom wont be part of it. yes it is very difficult to earn a living with only playing OTB so i think in future. there should be more types or formats. i see ppl with 1000 rating also earns being a streamer.. So. if not for chess as a entertainment sport. it wont be possible. there are audience for every rating. the higher the rating. its becomes impossible for average chess player to understand. coming back to chesscom.. it is unreliable at this point. with internet issues. no proper servers in asia. failing business model. i see most ppl shift to lichess for these reasons.

With the amount of bot activity and cheaters floating around Chess.com (or any online chess website) in addition to OTB tournaments having generally low prize funds (excluding 2700+ ELO tournaments, will the game have enough steam to attract new players and still remain exciting?
