World Chess Championship Question

The official announcers will be GM Susan Polgar and IM Lawrence Trent. The first game I ever watched was game one of the candidates tournament which IM Trent did, so I may be biased, but he's awesome. He asks the questions I would think to ask if I actually knew how to play chess. And I can't see how you could go wrong with GM Polgar. Based on this, I'd have to vote for the official site.

Meh, I'd rather have Judit. High 2500s isn't a bad rating of course, but just your run-of-the-mill GM. We already have an IM in Trent. I'd rather have a 2600+ person if they want to bring on a 2nd person. I really liked Short's insight during the candidate's.

I have an advantage over you. I'm not smart enough to know the difference between what a 2200 and a 2800 are saying.

I thought Polgar and Trent were a great team for the early rounds of the World Cup. I was happy when the switched to Short and van Geuzendam for the later rounds.
If I were gonna watch live, I'd renew my membership at Playchess so I could listen to Yasser.

Haha, well 2500 to 2600... I certainly can't tell the difference! But Short and J.Polgar are top class (or were at one time). It's exciting to listen to someone like that give commentary.

I found a youtube video of him giving a basic lesson... he talked INCREDIBLY slowly. I couldn't take more than a few minutes. Makes me hesitant to seek out his commentary.

Seirawan was top class too. He does speak slowly when he's pitching lessons to beginners. I have a DVD of lessons he did in the 1980s. Some of the youth I coach like it, but is is slow.
