Tell him the truth, that you live in the dark forests of Slovenia and you learnt to play chess because you found the body of an explorer with some chess books on him and a mobile phone.

Miha can play chess, hunt and make fire at the same time. That's why he takes longer than 5 minutes to move sometimes,he might be killing a bear, usually with his bare hands.

College, what a drag. It only gets in the way of real life purpose (chess!). Go fischers route, drop out and go get a chess title. You might be poor, but you'll see that title tag next to your username on chess.com everyday. Worth it! :P

We're approaching early endgames I think.

However, yes, I missed Bc4 because it wasn't obvious and a winning line was actually very long  I'd say. Hard to spot it, I thought I would be able to get out of troubles.

#3 was purely your pureness (if this word exist) and I coould do nothing. I don't know where I spoiled it. Maybe someone else see the problem there? :)

It's funny how some moves seem more obvious to different people. In that line if I didn't have the move Bc4, then my previous moves would have been bad because it'd drop the c3 pawn. Bc4 to me was a forced move sequence because it opened up my f1 rook to go to e1+, and attacked the f7 pawn with queen and bishop. Suddenly I'm in a prime attacking positions and you're left scrambling to keep yours intact (and king safe). So to me it was a natural move find following the principles of finding open lines to a centralized and mostly exposed king in the center.

I think game three was a direct result of the opening play that went wrong for you when after c3 and my d3 your position was more or less strategically horrible and it was only a matter of maintaining my strategic superiority and finding a good plan before your position became tactically lost. I'm not to sure what your best plan was in that game but I thought the idea of Bc2-b8 was not good and maybe trying to trade on b3 was better. Those bishops were useless that game and you never could break that d3 pawn, the key to freeing your position I think.

Now onto the games in progress. I am once again trading off my queen for a few pieces. MSC157 caught me in a greedy moment (forgetting that after Rd6, Bh7+ was once again possible). I think my pawn structure might be able to help me tough out a draw though and this will be a more interesting game and good for my chess. I think all games are headed into grind out endgames which is how this match should wrap up and a winner made. Let the endgames begin!

I made my moves relatively quickly. I only made a deep analysis in 2 of our remaining games since the moves were not the only ones.

However, it's still debatable - my strategy #3 - if the position is already winning for black after d3. Seems like you did everything right to stop my possible counterplays I prepared.

We are in the late middlegames now.

Sorry I have been swamped at work and had little time for chess past two weeks. Thankfully a lot of the games are relatively forced or obvious moves. I think we'll have a few endgames of interest.

I think you gave in to a draw to easily in the round 5 game. Fighting spirit man!

Avatar of MSC157

I had no plan in that game, hard to play on.

Another game finished, R4.

1 vs 4 now.
