I personally resign when deservingly outplayed, but, after all, they can hope for a stalemate or another blunder of yours, can't they?
There are times when it is beneficial for me to play positions when I am way behind in points, time, or advantage. This helps me to look more intently at ways to extricate myself from bad situations. I believe I learn more from losing or difficult positions. The end of the game will come,win,lose or draw.
It is my hope that my opponents will not think harshly due to my perspective. I have on some occasions, quit games abruptly without any communication, whether I am in a winning or losing
situation because I am an EMT/ firefighter and must respond to emergency calls. It is never my intention to be mean or disrespectful. I do enjoy playing these games, but my duty calls me to do what is needed more than what is wanted. Best wishes to all!
