Many differences: No draw stalemate, no three repetition rule draw, only a zone 3x3 to King and advisors, the King dont "see" each front to front is banned the elephant(bishop) don t pass go the river( the middle) only move two squares, cannon jump over red or white to eat( is the more difficult to calculate piece) , pawn no promote and will eat side and right when it cross the middle river. I m playing in a easy to start no register web " playok". I s a play with hight tactic, with low strategy, low openings., with fast attack to the king castle.
XiangQi vs. Chess

What are the differences?
Having learned the rules and played for a few years on and off (it's hard to find a XiangQi player here), I feel like XQ offers more dynamic play whereas chess has more static positions (especially in the Stonewall and such systems), perfect for the tactical player.
That's but a smidgen of my thoughts. What are yours on the differences between these two games?
