young players under 17yrz, would u drop out of school if u beat G.kasparov?

if ur younger than 17years would u drop out of school if u defeated garry kasparov in a chess match, would u drop out of school and excel in chess and make money and be a millionaire?

I dropped out anyway and I never beat GK, so yes. High school was a pathetic waste of most of my life. I'm taking college classes now which are much better. If I thought I had a chance at being a professional at chess, then I would do it and use the money to pay for school.

I guess the answer is that it wouldn't affect my schooling.

msc157 lol i'd hpe so 2, i would drop out of school and definetly i would get a sponsor, and be in a strong brand, but regarding to my chess life so far, i can beat a master chess computer, which means i'm a step away from being a master (the matches i lost in this site is because of time saasssh) and geuss what i am gambling in chess and I MAKE upper than 1280 bucks a day! And i'v only been playing in the chess gambling park for 3 days, someone is going to give me sponsorship soon i know it, i am now since i made a huuuge improvement i am 41 games unbeaten haha, the was this other im that came in some other chess park and EVERYONE was afraid to face him for 900 bucks(gambling) and guess what if i win i'l be happy and if i lose i'l be wise so i gambled and it ended in a draw haha

Me too! I'm going to be a computer scientist (taken three college CS courses already), but maybe I would use my skills to make a computer program to beat all the grandmasters!

And besides, If I could beat GMs while still in high school, whatever I'm doing is obviously working - no need to cut back on my school!

Pretty much no matter who you beat, if your "plan" is to become a millionaire from chess competition, you need to seriously rethink it.

It's not impossible, as evidenced by the fact that a handful of players have done just that.  But it's so statistically unlikely as to be indistinguishable from impossible.

To maggi and soldier, THAT'S BULL ur talking, uhm let me think about it, uhm... Could Lotto make me rich? Neh I can't be a lotto grandmaster if I can't predict the future, uhm... Being an accountant(boring) being a Bookkeeper(boring) or a lawyer and lie for a few bucks that's not going to make me a millionaire, instead it will make me a thousandnair or being an engineer nooo etc. Etc. Nooo, there is NO OTHER thing that can make someone a millioniar unless its chess,poker,sport etc. And I DON'T WANT TO JION ILLUMINATI and sell MY SOUL to the devil, NEVER!( its either sport,chess,poker etc. Or join the devil and be rich and lotto FORGET IT! Depends, if I could consistently beat him, and I knew I was grandmaster standard, than maybe. If I beat him by fluke, than I wouldn't do that.

I don't want to force myself to love something that doe'snt make me happy, I want to be the best in something atleast and leave my name in the book of records and besides my family is poor, and I have to hustle and make money, my family is rilling on me, because everyday I hustle and go and make money to put something on the table(by gambling in chess) and even after I finish school my family won't afford to pay for university! So I'l be just a bussiness man earning between 6000-9000 bucks and obviously that will not make me rich, so chess I my only solution for me to become rich

no if I beat Kasparov then obviously I'm already playing at a world champion level of chess and the time and work im putting into the game already is working enoguh and the diploma/degree and better job I get from school i'll just use the money to furthur my chess that way not to mention I ccould study certian educational fields like spanish/russian/computer science/ to indirectyl help my chess since i'll be able to read russian/spanish books and do post mortem with non-english speaking russian/spanish people. Plus the computer science would just help me get the most out of todays technology and I could use that knowledge to furthur my chess.

No, even if I could beat him I wouldn't drop out of school. Chess may be the best game ever made, but science is my life. Ever since I can remember     I wanted to be a scientist and science is the only thing that makes my existence worth while. I would never give it up, not even too be rich and famous.
