I think it can be as simple as multitasking on your computer. If you tab in and tab out multiple times during a game, it may be throwing some yellow flags....wouldnt worry about it. Chess.com keeps their cheat detection under lock and key for some obvious reasons, so I wouldnt expect them to tell you exactly why they flagged you.

What does this mean? There was no explanation to what "suspicious play" means. I don't cheat at all. I'm paying for the Premium membership. If I am going to be restricted I am closing my account and done with Chess.com and I will tell others to avoid it.

<SIGH>...I never get one of these warnings.

False, They can detect when you are focused on a webpage vs not. You are right in the sense that they dont know the other applications running, but if you are going in and out of your game they can tally that up as suspicious.

One of the most common reasons for this is simply you have aborted a lot of games recently. That could be intentionally on your part, or due to your internet connection (or lack thereof).

I believe that as your rating starts approaching the 2000 mark, they start monitoring your play more closely, looking for signs of any sort of suspicious activity, especially in Daily Chess, where it would be much easier to cheat. If your moves happen to coincide with what an engine comes up with, they'll flag you, innocent or not, just as a precaution. I'm not defending this policy of theirs, just mentioning it, so please don't shoot the messenger! ☺

I should add that to get back in the good graces of chess.com a while back, I had to agree to a complete reset of my account, complete with a new username. My old account was deactivated. I hope it doesn't come to that for you, but if it does, just remind yourself that ratings aren't that important, that you're here to have fun, and that such precautions are a necessary evil. Good luck with that!
