ooh, I like the mini-master, might need a booster seat when playing, but is a tough opponent!
I'm sure I'm rated somewhere in the middle.

The pessimist in me would rather welcome a classification based on the types of mistakes the players make.
This would be my take on a Federation (USCF) rating scheme:
0-800 : My mom/dad will buy me ice-cream/not beat the daylights out of me (depending on where you're from) if I sit through this tournament and not drop pieces today.
800-1200: Habitual Piece Dropper.
1200-1400: Vitamin D/Whole "Hope Chess" player. (based on NM Dan Heisman's definition of "Hope Chess")
1400-1600: Low-Fat "Hope Chess" player, Arbitrary "I have no idea what's going on" middle-game piece trader.
1600-1800: Lazy Analyzer/"Inconsistent in quality" move-maker
1800-2000: ??? (please fill in, I'm not here yet ...)
2000 and above: ?
I dare suggest an additional ranking for an expert at setting traps.
He should receive the title of Master Baiter.

I should add that somewhere, I'll try.
Im intermediate but i notice that when you play in live over the board chess your rating drops 400 points. Isnt this weird?
Hmmm -- "pre-mastery" for me. I don't get the benefit of the better adjectives below me, such as "advanced" or "intermediate", but I also don't get a title with the full word "master", which starts right above me. Caught between the enlisted and the officers, I guess. Maybe I'm like a warrant officer?

Pre-Mastery is better than advanced or intermediate even though the adjective isn't too creative. Plus you're only 11 points away from "Logical Master." I hope you make it.

@ first bolded part, lol the parents will reward/punish the kid, but according to the scale even if 400 points stronger he'll drop them without meaning to I just hope he gets ice cream for his trouble
@ second bolded part what's interesting from reading the frequent NM posters on here, they claim to be humans like us heh. They just do the best they can too, and may not have a clue about a true evaluation / best move. Sure they may calculate a ton of moves and spot tactics in 5 second that we don't see in 5 minutes, but compared to the very top it seems like we're all just going on a hope and a prayer, yes even titled players (Not that they're playing hope chess as defined by Heisman, I like his distinction between real/hope chess).
