'2random' is hacking...or something.

Just looked at his game history, that is some quality trolling.

One guy fell for it 3 times!! Laughing

-waller-

Very creative, for sure.

Pretty dishonest, really ... but above board technically ... I wonder if he's thought about a career in law?

What he's doing is PERFECTLY legal. Not hacking.

Pay attention to game you accept!

Legal, but I ganurantee the staff will warn him if he does it again, he's gone.

He's invested quite a lot of time in the prank. With friends I can see the fun (once or twice anyway). Over and over with strangers seems odd.

Still, whatever turns you on, I suppose.

-waller-

Maybe he's trying to see how high his rating can get before he's warned to stop doing it

-waller-

Lol, me too. I accepted, think I can pull this off.

-waller-

S**t, I got mated! Crap.

-waller-

I'm now trying to find out how it's done ...

That is hilarious!

My guess is the guy "2random" set that start position up as the start of the game in his challenge, and the OP unwittingly (well, I might well have done the same!) accepted his challenges without checking if there was a modified start position.

Yep, nailed it.

This clears it up. Turns out I'm partly responsable for not looking at the start position. I never thought people wanted rating points that badly. HA

Stupidest thing i've ever heared.

Why would the staff and a player at their site to stop making seeks with a certain opening?

YOU SEE THE ACTUAL POSITION WHEN YOU CLICK ACCEPT/DECLINE.

It's completely legal, and I can't belive how many idiots would actually accept this position.

It's really an epic fail on the other people, that's all.

I get that its my fault for accepting the game but the position is mate next move, so it's purely there just to trick people and give them no chance.

this is nothing other than a shitty thing to do, so I think the chess.com would be right to have a word with him.

Scottrf

Na. People who accept thinking they can win as white will only learn from the experience.

-waller-

Well, I admit I'm beat. No idea how he did this! Googling didn't help; just a load of threads where people ask if they can setup their own positions, with the answer always being no ...

Anyone finds out, please post - I've got to sleep!

togahcuwemmig

aww, 2random made it too obvious haha.

its really a nice lesson overall to make sure people know what they are accepting.

ex. in the Terms of Service of the Apple products they might add something that says "and will give us $10 million dollars" or something.

LESSON? check yoself before yo wreck yoself! ;)

Yeah I thought you could only select from their 'premade' positions.

netzach

hehe.

No harm in what he did.

For those daft-enough to embark on a game without looking is a lesson learned and embarrassment.

johnyoudell

So there is a 1random and a 2random both doing this?

More and more strange.

But the way the challenge looks did get a chuckle out of me. Maybe it would be OK - on 1st April.

macer75

LOL...

When I saw the title of the thread I was like, oh, another one of those complaints.

But turns out, this was actually pretty cool!
