This only comes from you aborting/abandoning games. If you don't make your first move within 10-20 seconds the server will also force abort and that will go against you.
It is amazing how often this comes up. Why do people like to abort games so much?
kenpo - Chess.com has come out and said that the matching system specifically attempts to match you with someone you didn't just play unless you hit rematch. So that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Also if someone bothers you you can simply block them and it solves the aborting problem.
Someone from staff told us yesterday that the computer attempts to pair you with someone you didn't just play, but that if there is no other matching than that person (who also wants another game) it will match you with that person. How ChesssSponge got from there to "that shouldn't be much of a problem" is known only to ChessSponge.

It shouldn't be much of a problem because bullet and blitz are the most played game types on this site so there are literally thousands playing those time controls at most times of the day.

On a very similar thread today Erik said: "contact support and they can help reset it. but i recommend you tell them you are sorry for abandoning games and that you'll be more careful in the future. you'll only get the reset once. :)" - I know this is not quite the same but his basic advice seems to be contact them and as a one-time thing they will rectify it.

I'm not like that. For example, someone of your ilk siding with me in any area of human endeavour is meaningless to me. You can't read, think, reason, or have any education so I simply don't care what you think.
You provided well though out arguments which showed me the error of my ways, well done sir!
Truthfully, don't abort and you won't have problems. Don't be angry at the world and someone might also either agree with you or at least help you understand the error of your ways at some point.

the apparent assumption that the system running is so perfectly tailored to your typical internet user/bullet/blitz player in every possible way whereby no one is ever really warranted in having issues or justified complaints is a little far-fetched. such a system would probably be difficult to implement in reality. not saying that chess.com's current system is not extremely good, I think it is, but to seemingly characterize it as flawless in every way, beyond reproach, is probably a bit of a mistake. it's rather unrealistic and smacks of certain brand of unsavory authoritarianism. in my opinion.
Nothing is perfect, but the fact that if you don't abort you won't run into this can't be argued as it is fact.
If you don't want to keep playing the same person either wait a minute or two for them to get picked up in a game so when you click new match you are even less likely to play them, or block them for a period of time to get new opponents.
There are plenty of blitz and bullet players on this site who never have this issue.

I keep getting a message about having to wait 5 minutes after playing each live game, something aborting game. I feel this unfair as i havnt aborted games, enfact others abort the game and now am stuck with this constant 5 minute wait how to get rid of this?!?!
