Why does it say I resigned?You aren't allowed to abort frequently. It is supposed to be reserved for unusual circumstances.
When you do it too often, you lose the ability to abort. The abort button changes to a resign button. After you play a certain number of games to completion, the right to abort will return.
It happened with me too 😭 now I know what that policy meant which shown whenever I aborted a match

I aborted a particular game because the pairing was not Balance, however it showed that I resigned and I lost points. PS: I rarely aborted games.

Why does it say I resigned?Maybe you abort too often? If it's the 3rd time like you said, maybe you've played a less amount of games and the abort ratio is high? If not that, did you lose rating, if so contact support, if not then it's a visual glitch and move on.

Ok back to the topic. Sure me and some others may have aborted to many games but when you press abort it should never resign you. This is my opinion and I wish that's how it was but it's not. Instead it should say something like you already aborted to many games would you like to resign instead? BUT NO IT LITERALY RESIGNS YOU!
This is silly. Even if you refuse to play it says you abandoned and you still lose points
It was a tourney so they need a result, not allowed to abort in a tourney, so yeah, you accidentally resigned.
