analysis board

NEWB - when reviewing a game, I see this option but it doesn't seem to do anything. I was expecting a chess engine to provide analysis of the current position and rate different moves. What is the best way to use the analysis option?

you must go to live chess and you see the recent games you played, click on the view button and then go to the analisis and then you can use the chess engine but it tkes a bit

I think you misunderstand the purpose of the analysis board.

It is simply a board for you to use to analyze the position on your own.  It isn't much different than simply setting up a physical board and moving the pieces around.  It is just there for you to try out different moves and see what things look like at the end.  It is not meant to provide any outside analysis.

An engine, or anything providing outside analysis, is not allowed for games here (except under certain conditions - unrated only and both players must be aware they're allowed).

Omnipaul - Thanks, I did not understand the purpose of the analysis board. 

Pat2003 - I haven't played any live games. I keep getting my arse kicked by the computer and was hoping to analyze the games afterwards to explore my numerous mistakes.
