android app keeps telling me to login again

my android app opens, shows regular options, buy when I click online chess (the option I use the most) it keeps poping up with error message saying to log in again. definitely a bug... How to fix it? running out of time on my games....

Same thing happened to me today as well. But once I logged out and back in, didn't happen again.

Any effort to see an online chess game on the mobile site triggers a login request.  I can log in and bypass the online chess section (and the mobile site in general) by hitting the Tournament button, but backing out of the regular site to the mobile site triggers the login requests again.  So, since I can't see the whole board on my phone when not on the mobile site, I've been playing my online games on my laptop tonight.

Happened to me too. Started today, etc., but went away when I logged out and back in.

but there is no way to log out of the app, is there? when I reopen it it automatically logs me back in without any prompts for username and password.

and I thought I am the only experiencing the same problem

I'm not used to "loging in and out" all the time. after making my move, I press exit or home and continue with my life. Definitely a bug

My guess is the site was changed last night (GMT) and needs a new login to set itself up. Not too concerned abut phishing on a chess site so I did and it seems to work now.

The login session expired, you need to log off completely then re-enter username and password.

Ok, found the logout button - it fixed the problem. thanks!

I logged off and back on again, per the general advice given here, but it doesn't fix the problem for me.  As soon as I try to do anything, it gives me the "Error, Please login again" dialog.  Maybe I can't be logged in to the website and the mobile app at the same time?

Update: Logging off the website didn't change anything.

I had the same problem.....Uninstall and install it again.....that is how I fixed it

@laloumen- Can you please go to your application settings on your device, find the Chess.com app in the list and clear the Chess.com app data?

I'm having the same problem as well. Log out, log in and the problem remains. Most of these problems I notice from USA players. Could it be the result of an ATT fiber optic cable being severed and causing problems in 5 states?

Yesterday I went to the application manager; cleared the app data; entered the app and it asked me to log in; I did and since then it was fine. Using Samsung Galaxy S3 but not in USA! If you can use the android browser to see the site then I wouldn't think the fibre optic problem is involved; if you can't then it is the line. I guess since there was an update on the chess.com server on Tuesday that is the cause, and the ongoing problem is the incompatibility between old content on your android and the new stuff on the server. I'd guess you need to force your device to reload local data/cache and maybe app to make them both match.

On the settings page I still haven't found the "log out" button. Uh, where is it???

That's the problem. At the bottom there are 2 shaded areas with links like "theme" and "Facebook", another with "invite friends", etc. At the very bottom is a dark grey area with icons ranging from FB to android, Apple and a few others. Then words like "help and support" and ©chess.com, etc.....but no "logout". Seen it there many moons ago.
