Auto vacation mode for players in Iran during Internet outages?

I’m playing a daily game against a friend in Iran who has suddenly stopped moving. As many of you know, there are currently widespread internet blackouts in Iran due to the government's response to protests.

It seems unfair for these players to lose rating and games because they have been physically cut off from the site.
I am requesting that Chess.com temporarily disable auto-timeouts for players from Iran, or automatically place them on 'Vacation' status until the blackout is lifted.

For context, here is the current situation: https://apnews.com/article/iran-protests-us-israel-war-nuclear-economy-ebddd998fbe7903e70ca62127250ebcb

These folks are already dealing with pretty dire circumstances. The cost of food has gone up something like 70% in a year. A standard yearly membership now costs the equivalent of two weeks' wages for the average Iranian citizen.

If the chess.com team can do anything to prevent these timeouts, I think it would be a small but meaningful gesture and show of support for our fellow chess lovers. Thanks for your consideration!

As long as it's not a tournament game, you can disable the Auto claim on timeout in your settings, on web.

Thank you so much, Martin! I didn't realize that option was available.

If anyone else is looking for this in the future, please see the screenshots below, and note that you can only do this through your web browser, and not through the app.
