banned from live chess

I've been a member for about a week. Great site & good people. No problems.

I was just playing a game & I was killing my opponent & I looked at the chat board & this guy was saying all sorts of things about me & my game & how bad I sucked at chess. I told him to F&%% off and quit the game & now I'm banned from playing.

Any recourse?

Since your account is still active, it should be a temporary ban. Just take this as a reminder to not say such words to anyone.

If someone gets offensive, you can easily disable chat and block them. It's not an excuse to swear.

The reply is evidence of the original claim. That is the American version of events. Seriously any citizen of any country should have a healthy mistrust of the local media, and at least occasionally look at things from an outside perspective.

I think it is fair comment that most Americans do not know what their military are up to. It can't do any harm to observe the difference between local and foreign reports of world affairs.

Who says we don't?  I listen to an hour of BBC news every day.

Disable the chat? Come on now! Enjoy the game, if you can, then you get to do a post-game analysis on the diverse range of insults your rival could generate; maybe discuss his rating in that category if you know what I mean.

all of my games have been friendly...they beat my A**, and I thank them for the lesson?!?...........and my hint at getting better at chess is: "take 2 weeks off then quit!"

I chose to do this also as I could not believe the abuse I got over a chess game, now I just enjoy my games.
