I am glad I saw this thread. When I first started playing live chess on chess.com, closing browser resulted in immediate resign. Now I am back, three years later, and I didn't realised that some things changed in the meantime. In one or two my live games I had some emergencies and had to leave, so I just closed my browser. I am really sorry for that, it is rude. One click on 'Resign' button before closing the browser really doesn't take much time on my side, but saves a lot on the other.

Of course, few people would behave this way in person but on the internet it is prevalent.

For not resigning, but just leaving the game, yes, it appears so. Actually, it is abusing, because your opponent has to wait few minutes until server stops trying to regain connection with you. Or worse, if you leave your browser open, until your time expires.

Some people got banned pretty quickly tho, I think they should be warned a few times first before banning comes in.

Uhm hello idk what happen but my chat in 4v4 mode said you're banned for 24 hrs for teaming (I don't think I've teamed up with anyone) but after 24 hours run out I'm still banned. What should I do please help?

please ban me i dont want play chess anymore because when im playing chess so many ppl are using cheat still didnt get banned when i report them...

im only had 700++ rating but they are like 2000++ rating i dont get it when i report they are doesnt banned
