Thanks! It seems like scid seems to be a good way to start if you like to make your own chess game or something similar but I'm only looking for something to "view" a specific game which I played here at chess.com and be able to share this game with the swedish part of the world at my blog. It seems to me there should be an easier way of achieving this?
Not sure if you realize that once a chess game is stored in SCID, you can export it to HTML (which you can then add to your site). This HTML gives you a chessboard interface from which viewers of your site can play over the moves in the game.
Aha, thanx a lot! :-) No, I did not realize that. That could certainly be an option. I've found another option after searching around a bit. That would be to use the plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/embed-chessboard/ if having your blog NOT hosted at wordpress.com (plugins not allowed at that domain for security reasons) it would be an option. In my case, I want to have it at wordpress.com at the moment, so I'll make a try with the SCID-software!
Hm Tried the SCID-software and it is really very easy to install and worked perfectly. When exporting to html and javascript (Yes, javascript must be included so the interactive part could work), it also worked perfectly. The problem is that wordpress.com does not support implementation of javascript in their posts (due to major security problems with myspace and Livejournal). It seems to me that I have to host my own blog at another domain. On the other hand, then I will get freedom for implementing plugins/customize design as I like to. Another option would be creating png-screenshots for different scenarios but that would not be that cool. But I guess I have to start somewhere. Thanks a lot for your help!!!
Hi
I wonder if I can use some algorithm to show "puzzle of the day" - type chessboard. I've seen this type of chessboard, and arrows etc elsewhere either. Is it XBoard you're using for this? I've thinking about teaching chess at my swedish blog. Of course I could refer to your chess.com - site. No problem...
