Happens to me all the time, idk. I have the same issue too. I just refresh and that usually doesn't work.

Explained at the bottom of that. On mobile web, the only ways I know of is a refresh on the older interface and toggling premoves to off, which isn't very easy to do now, at least quickly enough.

Tap any piece one (including the premixed piece) and the pre-move is cancelled. The piece is highlighted and “ready” to move or pre-move to the next legal square you touch.
