Chess.com Proctor

I’m confused.

This article states that “For now, we will be asking some players to use Proctor when playing in Titled Tuesday.” However, it also indicates that proctor is required for every participant in events with prizes.

Is proctor already being required for all chess.com prize events, or is it just being introduced for certain players for now?

Thanks.

It's not currently required for all players in the cash prize events but some are being requested to use it. At some point it will be required.

I see that there are two versions of Proctor, for Windows and for Mac. I usually use my phone (Samsung Android) as a second camera in important prize events. As far as I know, players are expected to use two cameras when entering Proctor. Does it also work on Samsung Android? I am mostly going to play OTB chess now, and travelling with two laptops is not an option.

Thank you in advance for your reply!

Based on the article, it's only on computer, though a phone could be used for the second camera.

Thank you for your kind reply, but I still do not understand some things. I thought that Proctor is something like Zoom. Starting the Proctor on the computer is easy, but where should I connect with the phone (= my second camera), if not to the Proctor? To Zoom? I probably use Google Chrome as the main browser on my phone, but I cannot find Proctor in Google Play, and on the website chess.com only offers versions for Windows and for Mac. Is any of those versions going to work on my slightly outdated Samsung Android? Thank you in advance for your reply!

Proctor is a program that wraps a browser into the tool, including a hook into your main device camera and a method to connect to a secondary camera on your phone.

Proctor is not a mobile application

Can anyone help me? Or can you tell me who I can complain to? I have been informed that I cannot play on Title Tuesdays without the Proctor program. But the program does not work at all from Russia. I have Internet access from three different locations, but it is not possible to play through Proctor anywhere. On one computer, I successfully enter the credentials, after that the screen flickers several times, I see that I am logged in to the site chess.com. Then the Proctor's field turns white...
On the second computer, after initializing the microphone and camera, the field immediately turns white...
I can log in on the third computer. But I can't play in any way, the Proctor throws me out and offers to enter the olgin and password over and over again. I posted two videos to explain the situation.

Hi! Any of your devices should work with Proctor, as long as they meet the minimum system requirements (you can check the system requirements here). Also, make sure you have downloaded the correct link from chess.com/proctor. Keep in mind that, due to your location, additional permissions and a system VPN may be required. If you need further assistance, please reach out via email fp_event_comms@chess.com

All my computers are modern and have broadband Internet access. However, even the latest version of Proctor is not able to work correctly. Free VPNs are not suitable due to long delays. It takes a long time to select a paid one due to the high requirements for Internet bandwidth and low delays. In addition, there will be unnecessary money costs for chess fans. The fight against cheaters is turning into paranoia! Can anyone tell me why I need to cheat? I'm 58 years old, I don't play good like before 30-35 years ago, I have no chance of winning a prize, I'm not a blogger, I'm not a coach! No one will pay attention if I scored 3 or 7 points. I cant play Title Tuesdays now!
