chess variants doesn't connect

I played chess variants a lot, till I left chess.com for a few months. I returned around 2 or three month ago. but no matter how many times I try, chess variants can't connect! I mean even when the connection is great and it connects very quickly in standard games, it doesn't connect in chess variants. 

Ia this on website or a device like a phone?

also after "StumpyBlitzer"'s comment I thought maybe its website's problem so tested it on the app, but the problem didn't solve. 

i cleared cache but still, no help. so i had to use another device and it worked. maybe it's my macbook lol

I posted another thread asking the same, someone replied saying the variants section of the website had been hacked :/. Major bummer, I very much prefer 4p over 2p chess now... come on and get it back chess.com, we need 4p

yes. since I had this problem, I kept using the 4p option on the menu, but unfortunately they removed it.

I try to play 960 and unrated games on my phone on the app and neither will connect.

You replied to a four month old topic. Variant server is down right now though.

Chess said the site crashed because too many people joined chess.com and the server can't handle it.

Variants server is up.

same problem does anyone now how to solve it?
