Chess.com disconnects my internet

Hi, thanks in advance for replies

Whenever I play live chess on chess.com the internet on my computer (not on other computer's using the same hub) loses connection, I have no idea what is causing the problem, only that it is related to live chess on chess.com (I play lots of other online computer games and go on lots of websites but it never disconnects like this). The problem is occuring annoyingly frequently but sporadically.

I cannot go on any websites (not only chess.com) until I fix the problem) To reconnect the internet all I have to do is disable it on my computer via control panel then instantly re-enable it and it works again for a few minutes (or sometimes seconds).

I am using windows if curious and BT broadband. When I "trobleshoot the problem" with the windows 7 internet tool it says it cannot identify the problem.

If anybody has any ideas on what the potential problem could be please post. If you need more information please just ask.

Thank you

Somehow you managed to play at least 15 games today while you were not connected.

How did you do that?

Usually it only takes about 30 seconds or so to turn on and off the internet which fixes the problem so I can do it mid game and carrying on playing if im fast enough, although I often end up forfeiting on time..

If you experience many connection interrupted issues, please consider switching to plain connection by opening http://www.chess.com/websocket-off.php and reloadinghttp://live.chess.com/live (the setting is permanent and stored per browser). Return to modern connection by opening http://www.chess.com/websocket-on.php and reloading http://live.chess.com/live.

Please let me know if that helps. Thank you!

notmtwain might be correct in suspecting an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) problem. Do you have Automatic Updates for Windows enabled? Is your Windows fully updated? Windows what? If it's XP, then it CAN'T be fully updated, because online support for that version of Windows was discontinued.
