How does the chess.com email work?

kohai

Go onto Homepage/Account/Edit profile

Its this page http://www.chess.com/home/edit_profile.html

5th box down

It says get @chess.com email address. Now what you do, is decide what you want yours to be. As long as no-one else on the site has it, it'll be accepted immediately and you can then start using it.

So for example, if you chose 123@chess.com  chances are high that someone else already has this one, but if you chose something like  elbca975@chess.com
the chances are very low that anyone else could have that.

It doesn't have to include your real name or your Chess.com username, it could be anything you want.

Once its set up, you can go onto an external email, like hotmail, yahoo, gmail and send yourself a test message to your @chess.com account.

You'll see then on your homepage, next to your avatar in red letters - Emails 1

Click on that red text, and your emails will open in a new window.

Emails will only open using the browsers Firefox and Internet Explorer.

OH, I'm not mad.  I just personally find it frustrating that it has to be that way.
