Choosing colour

I'm trying to practice a certain opening as black but when I attempt to select the criteria of a new game with me being black I'm only able to choose "random".  Is it not possible to do that?

"Live chess" and then "15:10"

Sorry but I don't understand your reply there.  What I'm attempting to do is play random opponents on the 15/10 time setting, but control the settings so that I'm always black.  This is just so that I can practice a particular opening.  Are you saying that is not possible to arrange?

For live games you can select your color only if the challenge is unrated.

Oh ok..... don't think the take up is so good for unrated games, but thanks for the info anyway.... much appreciated

90% of my games here on chess.com I had Black. This is possible in not rated games!?

You can select your color for daily games, rated or not. At least the UI allows it.

What do you mean "for daily games"?  What is the "UI"?

The time control for daily games is one or more days per move.

Go to “Play > Daily Chess”. In the "New Game" section, you can create a custom challenge and pick your color.
