Connection interrupted,reconnecting...

Read the article you bad dog, but it doesn't address my paranoia on this issue.
I've experienced the same thing as OP. And yes it seems to me that it occurs when I've suddenly taken an edge and am clearly winning. Then interruption, time elapses, and when the game comes back my opponent has more time than they had before the interruption and I have lost a lot of time.
Am I nuts or can a remote player force my computer to request a new IP address during the game? Can they hack the chess server?

You're not nuts, of course!
Your IP is secure on our server though. It's just coincidence if it's happening when you feel you have a winning position

Let me remove the IP address question - that's my ignorance. I, in fact, have no idea what/how/etc is happening I just know the game gets taken over and suddenly I lose on time.
Honestly though this has not been happening to me as of late, but my rating has improved over 200 points in a short period of time so maybe I'm not playing the players who try those tricks? This was happening to me when I was playing 2min bullet chess at the 600 rating level.
For those of you laughing at a 600 rating level let me tell you there are sharks lurking down there that will give you a real fight.
I don't know nothin.

I have also have the same problem with my perfectly ok network. Chess.com always disconnects my games. Please chess.com fix this problem. its annoying!!
See post #2. While the site can try to make the client and server code as robust as possible, they cannot control anything outside their network ... and the vast majority of problems are outside the site control or influence.
To say the chess com server is secure when the pentagons is not is laughable. the chess com guys probably know well a percentage of geeks can spike the game when in a bad position [ I imagine nerdy goofy teenagers being the type to do this ]
Real problem real issue difficult to fix.
Best to all jb

just had this happen to me in my last game moments ago ....opponent blundered his queen, i had time edge, then connection interruption issue....then says I abandoned the game. with no issues at all from my previous games all day.

I have the same problem a few days ago. Doesn't matter if I play with my mobile phone, with my tablet or my pc, I always have this problem. It happens if I use a wife connection (just one device connected) or a good antenna connection (H+). It seems to be a chess.com problem

And all of you connections likely travel a very similar route across the internet. Some hop, or number of hops is likely a much larger influence on dropped connections. A very large number of people play on the site with success and limited connection issues.

Daily games don't require real-time connectivity. But occasionally a move will still get made but the clock will still count down in daily. It's rare, but does happen.

This is annoying I can't even increase my rating anymore I win and lose, win and lose, win and lose because of this connection problem I can't even enjoy my games anymore. it's even worse when i play on blitz, it hits me like, EVERY TIME! I'm always on the edge of being disconnected because it keeps on jamming and i have to reload the page several times, this sucks! and i'm starting to think chess.com is behind this... how do we get hacked on a secure server?? it doesn't make sense, this is not a connection issue other chess websites work perfectly fine and I play with other players online, stream music and download content and my connection works perfectly fine but only on chess.com????? Nah and Martin_Stahl please stop referring us to that post it's useless.

The links I have posted in other topics are not useless. If you have problems every time you play and none of the suggestions in the disconnect link in post 2 or in the connection settings in the following help then there may be a problem between your location and the chess.com servers.

Saying your connection works on others sites doesn't mean much since the traffic only shares part of the same path.
Dear chess.com
This has been an issue for me for quite a while now. Basically, I'd be playing blitz games where I would be ok or sometimes even winning, but because of this message I would lose a lot of time or I would lose points due to 'abandoning' the game. I had a time where someone has literally blundered his queen and was on a good game, but then this message pops up and 'abandons' the game for me.
Of course, we've all seen that one guy on the site who would have like a million messages on the chat screen talking in red font color about how said person disconnects and reconnects, and as funny as it seems to be when you see it, it is really infuriating to be on the recieving end of this.
I'd like to see this issue fixed. I like chess.com, and I like the things they do in the site, so I don't want things like this happening. Thank you for listening.
