Hi there. Basically the problem is what it says.

I'm playing a correspondence game and after I played a move my opponent must have entered a continuation, and his move apperared instantly. I then looked over the position and noticed that another move has been made. One which I did not enter and basically drops a piece for a pawn. It's only 8 moves in. I don't get it. Has the continuation line been made without my consent?

I normally go back a few moves, to jog my memory on the game. Move 7 i castled then I hit submit. Then I look on screen and it says I made an 8th move as well. Which I didn't. I'm lost. Please help.

That really sucks. I'm assuming that you didn't use the conditional move setting to make that move. I really don't think that there's a glitch on chess.com that makes moves for you. Honnestly, my first guess was that if someone was at your computer, they may have made a move on your account. Of course that doesn't work out if you're the only one with access to your terminal. I'd report that as a glitch if it happens again though.

Was the move a random move or did it look like it actually had some purpose.

Someone using your computer might have made it.

I live on my own, no one could use the pc. (Unless my dog has learned to typeTongue out). The only thing that I can think of is that when I submitted the first move after looking back over the moves and made my move and hit submit, it mustve jogged ahead to the rest of the contuation and sent that as my position accepted when i hit submit.

I certainly wouldn't have made the continuation move my opponent suggested it even though it gets a fork back but destroys my opening position. I'm a bit bummed about it to be honest.
