There are some manual steps that have to be taken for crypto. If you don't get updated in a few days, contact support:

When entering a support ticket, you'll get an automatic reply to let you know it was received and potentially to offer information that could be pertinent to the request.

It likely also included a statement that support has been receiving very high ticket loads and it may take a while to respond.

how long does this usually take?

I am a little frustrated waiting for this... what happens if i just buy a regular membership with my card now, will it add up the time or will i get rugged again

Support has been overwhelmed by the number of new memberships.  Your first post was 20 hours ago.  Please be patient.  I don't think you have been "rugged."   Your email is in a queue that will get answered as quickly as possible given the circumstances.   According to the most recent report, they are getting to actual responses in 53 hours, on average.  (https://www.chess.com/article/view/chesscom-update-january-2023#Support )

Support

Lastly, a busy couple of months for the Chess.com Support Team. Here are the stats for December:

  • Average Time to First Response: 53 hours
  • Total Support Responses: 38,634
  • Average Quality by Member Rating: 94%
  • Total Ratings: 4,142

If you do pay with a regular card, I think it would go through more quickly on the website (but I don't know the actual time.)  I have heard there are delays with paying through the Apple app.
