Daily chess rating range glitch?

I've been trying to practice the semi-slav as black, so I made a few custom unrated challenges in daily chess where the starting book position is relevant to the position I need to study. In order to get a good match, I set the rating parameters to -100 / +400, but yet for some reason I still got paired against a 1000 rated player, and the second time I tried was with a 1100 player.

(The above shows the parameters I set but yet still got paired with a 1100)

Is this a glitch in the system?

Thanks

I'd say your rating for correspondence started low.

Hey David, nice to talk to you again happy.png

I'm not sure what you mean by my rating starting low. It's somewhere in the mid 1800s now so the above challenge shouldn't have been open to anyone below 1700.

YES. This happens to me constantly. I put in a range that I would like to play against, and it pairs me with someone wildly outside of that range. Like if I put no one lower than 50 points below me, and then it pairs me with someone 200+ points below me. ANNOYING. What is the point of customization if it totally ignored?

Yes, my impression is that custom challenge options are mostly ignored...and that could be such a great feature if it worked!  I would wait many hours, even days, to get an opponent for Daily tailored to my liking.
