Does the regular Chess.com app not work? Not the Classic one? I don't know if it is supported on Kindle or not but thought I would ask.
Did Chess.Com just quit working on Kindle Fire?
Mine has just done the same. Have deleted and reloaded and tried all the chess.com apps with no success. That's my online games lost then. Anyone found an answer?

If by regular you mean Chess - Play & Learn, then no. It's not listed in the Kindle App Store and when I try to get it from the Amazon web site I get a pop-up that says:
Non-compatible device
Granted, my Kindle Fire is coming up on 5 y/o. If there is another app that works, please let us know. Thanks.
I think those are all. I don't know a whole lot about the Kindle but I know they load some stuff on top of Android that might make things not work. Can you load directly from Google Play?
You can open a ticket. I'll look in the forums some and see if staff may have posted about it in the past.

It is also possible most stuff will work on the browser, but I can't guarantee that.
Yea, the app isn't working for me neither. I deleted and installed from the Amazon app store and it still won't work.

As dogfish1 noted, Classic worked just fine until somewhere between 06:00 and 12:00 CDT today. Did chess.com pull the plug on something? I know they've been pushing the new version at me but I was happy with the old, lite, version and trying to keep memory usage to a minimum.
I don't think I can load from Google Play (that may be ignorance on my part, but I think you have to order from Amazon for the Fire). Browser is a fail on the Fire with free version as nearly every sponsor's security info is out of date and a warning pops up about every 20 seconds (not hyperbole).
Simple solution (for me) may be to get a cheap dedicated use tablet.
Thanks for looking at this.
Mine also gave the same error with no access to Play and Learn. Playing through the browser on this thing is awful. How is my client obsolete when I have the latest version?
Yeah same error here in Germany, too. Tried to uninstall and reinstall but it doesn't work! Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Cheers
I am not not in the know on any of this, just trying to assist. The best bet is a ticket so support can give a more accurate answer. The classic app is the old app and I would imagine it would be one of the first ones to go away with the migration to v3.
The Chess.com Play & Learn app is the v3 connected one and for Android the current version is 3,4.04. I can't tell from the Amazon store what version is actually there; the date of 2015 may just be when it was uploaded.
edit: from the description it says 3.3.13a .... so it is an older build for sure.
Chess.com works on Kindle? I'm going to have to get mine up and going. It's in a drawer and I never use it.
Well , I didn't buy the Kindle primarily to play chess on but for my books , but I got by with the lite Chess.com version I put on it . But it's sort of made up my mind not to replace the Kindle with a new one because I do enjoy my chess and kindles and Chess.com don't seem to mix. How do other tablets work with the Chess.com software?
I use it some on my phone and have a version installed on an older tablet but haven't tried updating the latter in a while; I mostly use it for notation at the club. When I get a chance I can see if the newest version works on it. But it should work fine on any recent Android tablet I would think; Kindles are a bit of a different beast with their customization.
And the mobile browsers on the newer devices work, though they are not officially supported right now (some bugs are expected). But for most stuff it works. Wouldn't attempt Live on it really though.
You can try side loading the app even without rooting your Fire...
Try a search for "side load" fire
Or just fallow this tutorial:
http://www.howtogeek.com/178357/how-to-sideload-apps-onto-your-kindle-fire/
There are also a ways to get the Google Play store on your Fire tablet. I'd avoid any that involve rooting the tablet, unless you're very comfortable doing that.
Also for using chess.com in a browser try using a different browser other then Silk.

Chess Classic just threw up a message "Error. The client version is obsolete". Deleted and reloaded - same message. I'm told by Amazon that Chess - Play & Learn (not Chess for Kids - Play & Learn) is not compatable. The website throws so many security warnings up on the Fire it is unusable. Any solutions?
