disconnection question

I was playing a fast game of 5 minutes and was winning. All of a sudden, it showed "disconnection" of the opponent -and then my side "trying to reconnect"...but i was able to see that the opponents clock was counting down from 1.50 to back (mine time was around 1.27)..It took a while to reconnect..After connecting back the opponent time was "upgraded" to 2.13 and mine was degraded to 0.37 plus he had made his move. Is this a cheating method here or i am the unluckiest fish in the bowl..?
